HerbalCast Show #12: Death by Supermarket
Keely interviews Nancy Deville, author of the new book “Death by Supermarket.” In this candid conversation, Nancy discusses the difference between food and (food) products – and how Americans continue to suffer due to the industrialization of food.
Nancy goes into details regarding the difference between “real” food vs. food that she refers to as products. Sighting practices in the dairy industry that have essentially compromised the quality and composition of milk, Nancy also touches on the inherent problems of high fructose corn syrup, MSG and other unnatural substances that have subtly made their way into our home and stomach.
From health issues related to cholesterol and obesity, to ineffective diet plans and hormonal imbalances – Ms. Deville points out the clear relationship of how the food we eat (a lot of which we believe is healthy) is poisoning our bodies. Aside from the disappointing realities of what we face as consumers, Nancy also sheds light on a few practical solutions for overcoming the challenges.
